Cumbrian Pork

We aim to produce the best pork you can buy. In this respect we have chosen only to use rare breeds, principally the Saddleback. They grow more slowly than commercial breeds and taste better as a result.

During the Summer these are housed in Arks outside on the farm with plenty of room to roam. In fact they regularly roam a bit too much ! In Winter we keep them in straw yards in farm buidlings.

We control every step of the process from buying in weaners from selected local small farms, to fattening them at Hallsford Farm. We use brewers grains from our local micro brewey and GM free grower pellets.

We slaughter locally at Lockerbie and then hang and cut at our own Butchery at Hallsford.
